Vermont
is known for scenery, since 50% of the state's
western border is made up of Lake Champlain (the
sixth biggest body of water in the US), and
because of the Green Mountains that run down the
stretch of the land. The state is
separated into five regions; (1) The Northern
Highlands, (2) The Green Mountains, (3) The
Taconic Mountains, (4) The Champlain Lowlands
and (5) The Vermont Piedmont. Tourism is a major
industry in the state, with many ski resorts,
resort towns, summer camps, horse shows and more
available to the public to take advantage of. If
you are an outdoorsman, hiking the Long Trail,
trout fishing on the lake, and snowboarding atop
Smuggler's Notch are just a few activities that
you will cherish while living in Vermont!
Vermont was also the first state admitted to the
Union after the ratification of the
constitution. The state is served by two
commercial airports, the Burlington
International and the
Rutland Southern Vermont
Regional Airport. In recent years the Burlington
International has had $24 million invested
renovations and expansion of the airport for
your convenience.
Visit the Green Mountain State yourself, and
discover just how difficult it is to leave once
you get there! |
