Alabama is currently ranked fourth in automobile
output, it really invests heavily in aerospace
research. Aerospace, not to be confused
with air space, is the term used when referring
to the industry that researches, manufactures,
operates and maintains vehicles moving through
air and space.
The George C. Marshall Space Flight Center, the original home of NASA, is
located in Huntsville, Alabama. It is the
lead center for propulsion, space shuttle
propulsion, payloads and crew training.
The center is also home to The
International Space Station ("ISS") and the
Huntsville Operations Support Center ("HOSC")
are located at the "Redstone Arsenal".
Among other things, it is interesting to know
that when a Marshall Center payload is on board,
the "HOSC" monitors the rocket launches from
Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.
The U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command is also based in the Redstone
Arsenal in Hunstville.
